Liposuction
Information
Liposuction
is a procedure that can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted
fat from specific areas like the abdomen, thighs, hips, buttocks,
calves, knees, ankles, chin area, jowls, cheeks, neck, chest
and the upper arms.
Now
it is possible to safely remove localized collections of fat
that will not go away by diet or exercise, and, in some cases,
go back to work the next day.
Remember,
Liposuction should not be used as a substitute for weight reduction
and/or excercise.
The deposition
of fat in adults is somewhat genetically determined. Women,
particularly after pregnancy, tend to accumulate fat in the
hips and abdomen. Adult men get deposits in the waist or "love
handles". Liposuction is often the only means of removing
these fat deposits. You are a good candidate for liposuction
if you're of normal to slightly above normal weight with pockets
of excess fat in particular areas of your body that did won't
respond to dieting or exercise. Puckering or "cellulite"
may be helped by liposuction, but will not be eliminated.
Please remember,
the overall goal is to achieve significant improvement, not
perfection.
